Getting Started with Agile
Begin by first educating yourself in the foundational ideas of Agile and Lean.

If there is one book you'll read, start with Lean Software Development, by Mary and Tom Poppendieck. It describes Lean thinking for development, and why that has to be different from the way its applied in manufacturing.

Our one-day "Intro to Agile" course can give you a chance to experience what a real Agile project is like. The more you know about Agile to start with, the more you will benefit from this course.

How to Apply Agile Methodologies?
The best guide to how to apply agile techniques comes from Lean Thinking in the form of Value Stream Mapping. This is nothing more than taking a look at what you do that your customers pay you for. It means understanding what you do that carries customer value, and how fast you are able to deliver that value.

What Does a Coaching Engagement Look Like? There are three main elements:
  • Lean-Agile Leader Staging - Bring key leaders to a common Lean-Agile understanding through informational sessions.
  • Assess, Target, and Engage - Jointly create a custom plan for your move to Lean-Agile process, and execute it using coaching to avoid pitfalls.
  • Support, Check-Ups, and Updates - Ensure that new behaviors stick, and that you're on the leading edge of new ideas and practices.
