Nancy Van Schooenderwoert (Founder)
Nancy Van Schooenderwoert, founder of Lean-Agile Partners offers Agile coaching, training, and consulting worldwide. She was among the first to apply Agile methods to embedded systems development, as an engineer, manager, and consultant. She has led Agile change initiatives beyond software development in safety-critical, highly regulated industries, and teaches modern Agile approaches like Mob Programming, Agile Hardware, and Lean development methods.
In 2018 Nancy co-authored ‘Agile Methods for Safety-Critical Systems: A Primer Using Medical Device Examples’. Praised by leaders in industry, the Agile community, and regulatory experts, this book is helping teams to be 100% compliant without diluting the power of Agile.
Nancy is a regular presenter at numerous Agile-related conferences, and local groups worldwide since 2003. She has been a track co-chair in 2011-13 for the Agile Alliance’s main conference, Agile 20xx, and for the first 3 years of their deliver:Agile conference. Her work in applying Agile methods to embedded systems has been referenced by Jim Shore, James Grenning, and Mary Poppendieck in their books. She is a founder and past president of Greater Boston’s premier Agile user group, Agile New England. She has chaired Agile New England's "Agile for Executives" program, and initiated ANE's annual Mob Programming conference beginning in 2016. Nancy was producer for both of ANE's 2019 conferences: Mob Programming and Agile Games.
